Marne River cruises are the perfect getaway
for those who have a taste for the exotic
and are looking for a peaceful rest. From
Paris to Bry-sur-Marne through Nogent and
the famous riverside taverns, cruising is
the most idyllic way to wind your way upriver.
Sailing past the chain of islands that are
teaming with wildlife, will give you a good
idea of the natural wonders the Val-de-Marne
has to offer.
The entire Saint-Maur section of the river
is closed to navigation so as to protect the
environment between the Champigny bridge and
Pissevinaigre Island. Boats coming from Paris
must take the tunnel at the Saint-Maur Lock
situated at the Maisons-Alfort Bridge where
they come out at the Joinville Marina.
If you want to see Moulin Island, Loups Island
and Fanac Island, they are visible from the
riverbank in the direction of Bry-sur-Marne.
The islands of the natural reserve are either
accessible from the banks, walking on the
paths or cycling on arranged tracks. To preserve
the environment, a soft navigation is also
accessible by means of "catalantes"
(flat covered & electrical boats) from
the Bridge of Chennevières (Saint-Maur
side).
